Hyatt is a smaller chain than Marriott or Hilton, but its corporate-rate program is well used by business travelers, and the discount usually comes bundled with perks like breakfast and free Wi-Fi. If your company has a rate negotiated with Hyatt, it’s worth using even when you’re not traveling for work, though most properties technically scope the rate to business travel only.

Availability varies by property and dates, but any major city generally has at least a few participating hotels. Here’s how to find your rate, enter it, and make sure it’s actually the best price on your dates.

Find Your Corporate Rate

If you work at a large company, your travel team probably books hotels with the corporate code already plugged in, so you may not know your company’s code at all. The easiest path is asking HR or the travel desk to share it.

The below corporate discounts are only for eligible members authorized to use the rate. We do not condone using these codes if you are not associated with the partner organization, and hotels will check for eligibility at check-in.

Larger employers often have multiple rates with Hyatt (e.g., a main corporate rate and a sub-brand or regional rate). Try each one, the discount levels can differ by 5 to 10% between them.

Entering the Code in Hyatt’s Search

Hyatt puts the field right on the main search bar. Go to the Hyatt booking page, expand Special Rates, and enter your code in the Corporate Account field.

Every result in the subsequent search will be at your corporate rate (or the hotel’s best-available rate if the property doesn’t participate).

Compare Corporate vs. Standard Rates

Hyatt labels corporate rates as “Preferred Rates,” but they are not always cheaper than the hotel’s publicly available rates. Stand-alone promotions, advance-purchase rates, and World of Hyatt member rates can sometimes price below the corporate option.

In this example the corporate rate is 15% cheaper than Best Available, which is the typical savings. Always compare before booking, and don’t assume the corporate rate is automatically the winner.

Presenting ID at Check-In

Corporate rate policies technically require the front desk to verify your eligibility at check-in. Enforcement is wildly inconsistent and regionally driven. Hotels in Asia check ID on us almost every stay; hotels in North America and Europe check less than 10% of the time. Plan to carry proof regardless.

Acceptable forms of identification are:

• A badge or ID card with the company name and your photo
• A business card showing your name, title, and company
• A work email address the hotel can verify by sending a confirmation

Enforcement has tightened up in the last couple of years on branded rates (especially anything tied to a well-known corporate partner). If you show up without proof, a property can re-rate your stay to the walk-in price, which at the last minute is almost always worse than the alternatives you skipped over.

Hyatt properties are mostly operated independently, which is why ID enforcement is especially inconsistent. An individual general manager’s policy matters more here than the chain policy.

Which Locations Offer Hyatt Corporate Discounts

Corporate coverage within Hyatt isn’t uniform. Each property negotiates its own rate with each corporate account, so the discount depth varies with location and the employer’s volume. Business-heavy cities (Chicago, New York, London) tend to have the widest participating lists and the best rates.

Which Companies Get the Best Rates

Rates are negotiated based on volume, so the consulting and tech firms that fill hotel rooms for a living end up with the deepest discounts and the widest property coverage. Deloitte, IBM, Accenture, and the big banks tend to have the strongest deals across chains.

If your company is smaller but consistent in a given city, the local property is often more willing to negotiate a direct rate than corporate ever would be.

Negotiating Your Own Hyatt Corporate Rate

If your company doesn’t have a rate with Hyatt today, you can start one, but it’s negotiated property-by-property, not at the chain level. Pick the handful of hotels your team actually stays at and reach out to each one individually.
